Very Important

As a family with five children, most of you can imagine that buying second-hand clothing is very important to our household. Our right to continue to do so is being taken away. A law making it illegal to buy or sell used children's clothing is due to take effect February 10. That's just a few weeks away!

Please take a moment to contact those in Congress who can stop this craziness. http://www.rallycongress.com/make-second-hand-kids-clothes-legal-/1471/save-kid-s-clothing-resale-consignment-thrift-stores-from-closing/

This link will explain everything and help all of you to send an automatic email to your Congressperson.

i'm amazed at the things they are/or try to regulate! they can't keep up with all the law breakers of the basic laws, what makes those in Washington think that the local law enforcement has time to enforce yet another law. thanks for the links.

SURELY not! Why in the world, in a time when everyone wants to be "Green", would they stop people from recycling clothing! That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of! Is it true? Did you check that site (I forgot the name of it) that tells you what is a hoax and what isn't? I can't see how this would be legal.

Okay, I looked it up and it appears that it will not apply to thrift stores or yard sales, but to new items only. After Feb 10, everything has to be tested for lead and other contaminates but thrift stores aren't required to comply. Whew. Here is the snopes link. http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/pending/cpsia.asp
